Licensed from Warner Brothers and DC Comics, Batman is based on both the blockbuster movie Batman Returns and the much anticipated movie Batman The Dark Knight, which opens in America July 18th and near that date worldwide. Batman The Dark Knight is expected to be the hit of the summer. Batman is a proven title for pinball; the two Batman pinball models Stern made in the early and mid 1990's were great successes. Batman lends itself to the creation of great pinball toys. Batman was created by the designer of Lord of the Rings, and he has outdone himself. Among the great mechanisms are a teeter-totter where the ball races the Batmobile, a mechanism where the player tries to reveal the Joker, and a Scarecrow operated moving crane with a suspended ball that the player tries to hit. These toys are exceptionally unique and fun and are augmented by an upper plastic playfield, spinner, drop target, diverter, ramps, etc. The playfield has great shots, and Stern's leading rules designer has included truly fun and understandable game play. |
